The widespread use of smartphones has made digital maps become a daily essential in our lives. We commonly use mobile applications for finding routes, bus stops, public amenities, or even restaurants. These applications rely on spatial data and digital maps to help find the right route or locate the nearest bus stops. The talk will focus on the production of digital maps, its applications and future developments.

Mr. Homing Tam

Homing currently works as a principal product manager at Lalamove with a focus on delivery core platform. Prior to his work in Lalamove, he served as sales engineer and account manager for maps product. He has been in love with maps since he was a kid. This planted the seed for his study in land surveying and computing at the university. Homing is active in developer communities and the GIS (Geographic Information System) industry. He was recognized by Google as a member of the Google Developers Experts (GDE) community since 2012.
