Objective

This workshop will focus on the introduction of QGIS, a popular open-source Geographic Information System (GIS) software. Through demonstrating the fundamental operations of QGIS, participants will learn about data processing, spatial queries and various spatial analysis tools. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a basic understanding of QGIS and its capabilities.

  • Quota for face-to-face session: 25 (first-come-first-served)

  • Free of charge

  • The workshop with hands-on practice will be conducted in face-to-face session. Participants can also join via virtual session as observers

Introduction of Guest Lecturer

Ms Belva Tong

Ms. Belva Tong currently serves as an executive committee of HKGISA. She is a graduate of the bachelor’s degree majoring in Urban Studies at the University of Hong Kong. She is enthusiastic about how GIS applications can facilitate the smart city development and make Hong Kong a better place to live. Among several past experiences, she worked as a GIS trainee in the Esri China (HK) Limited, analysing spatial data and exploring the integration of BIM and GIS.
