Introduction of Guest Lecturers
Prof. Paulina Wong
Prof. Paulina Wong is currently the Head of the Science Unit at Lingnan University and Centre Fellow of the Institute of Policy Studies. She is an environmental geographer specializing in urban climate, air/noise pollution, GIS, and environmental health. In recent years, her research has been extended to urban sensing, mobile geospatial technologies, sustainability education and social policy. She is a certified GIS Professional. She also serves on a number of professional associations such as the Council member and Vice-chairman of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Committee of Smart City Consortium, Honorary Secretary of HKGISA and Committee member of HKABAEIMA. She is also the editorial board member and review editor of several quality international journals.
Prof. Wong obtained her BSc and MSc (First Class Honours) from University of Auckland, New Zealand and PhD from HKU.
Ms Belva Tong
Ms. Belva Tong currently serves as an executive committee of HKGISA. She is a graduate of the bachelor’s degree majoring in Urban Studies at the University of Hong Kong. She is enthusiastic about how GIS applications can facilitate the smart city development and make Hong Kong a better place to live. Among several past experiences, she worked as a GIS trainee in the Esri China (HK) Limited, analysing spatial data and exploring the integration of BIM and GIS.
