"Using spatial data for car-racing games"

Objective

Spatial data is often adopted for creating virtual worlds for modern games. Spatial data and 3D data provide accurate depictions of real-world environments that can be easily imported into development tools for 3D model generation, thus greatly reducing the game developers’ efforts to create large-scale environments. This sharing session will explore the application of spatial data for creating a 3D environment in the game industry. Houdini, QGIS and other game tools for game demonstration.

  • General public, particularly video game lovers

2. Tour in Geospatial Lab, with showcases and demonstrations (Face-to-face session only)
