Objective
This workshop will provide an introduction to working with open spatial data from the CSDI portal. Participants will learn how to access and view spatial data using web-based GIS software. Through hands-on demonstrations, participants will discover simple mapping techniques and basic spatial analysis tools to visualise these spatial data. The session will also showcase real-world applications that demonstrate the practical uses of data from the CSDI portal.

Introduction of Guest Lecturer
Mr Paxton Leung
Mr Paxton Leung is currently a research officer for Prof. Paulina Wong at the Science Unit, Lingnan University, focusing on geospatial analysis and a location-based public health project. He recently graduated with distinction from the master's program in Urban Analytics at the University of Hong Kong. Additionally, he hold a BSSc (First Class Honours) from Lingnan University, concentrating on Smart Cities & Digital Society. He is passionate about leveraging smart city technologies, sustainability, and data-driven approaches to neighbourhood development.
