Objective

Technology has been facilitating urban development for the last decades. The maturity in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS) has led to both major components in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry and the urban planning field, respectively. This talk walks through the possibility of BIM-GIS integration and explores their application to drive the process of urban development.

Introduction of Guest Lecturer

Mr. Daniel Lui

Mr. Daniel Lui is a final-year student of the Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Urban Studies, the University of Hong Kong. As an urban enthusiast, his interests include spatial planning, urban design, GIS spatial analysis, and smart city development. Among several past experiences, he previously participated in the summer internship programme by the Urban Renewal Authority, assisting the development of the in-house Urban Renewal Information System. Mr. Daniel currently serves as the Executive Committee at HKGISA.
