Feature Talk
Event Code: E241214
Details
Objective
This talk explores the transformative shift from traditional 2D GIS data to 3D geospatial technologies. Participants will learn about the evolution of GIS and how the transition to 3D data has enhanced spatial analysis and applications across various industries. Student representatives from the tertiary institution will share their experiences from their industrial attachments and their projects on applying 2D and 3D GIS techniques in the industry, together with information related to students thriving in this dynamic field. An interactive session with a live demonstration of advanced 3D LiDAR equipment used for high-precision spatial data capture. Participants will have the opportunity to operate the equipment and see how it can produce realistic 3D models and conduct spatial analyses.
