Objective

This workshop will introduce the fundamental concepts of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis. In this hands-on session, participants will gain practical experience with basic mapping and spatial analytical techniques. Through real-life examples, we will explore the roles and advantages of using spatial data and GIS applications in our daily lives to make geographically informed decisions.

Introduction of Guest Lecturer


Mr Anson Yip

Mr Anson Yip currently serves as a geospatial analyst at Science Unit, Lingnan University. He holds an MPhil in Geography and a BSc in Ecology & Biodiversity from The University of Hong Kong. His research primarily focuses on addressing various urban environmental and ecological issues using GIS and remote sensing technologies.
