CSDI Awards 2024

To promote CSDI and to raise the public’s interest in spatial data, Geospatial Lab, established by the Development Bureau, is organising the CSDI Awards 2024 – “Present Spatial Data, Map our Future”. The goal of these Awards is to encourage students and individuals from the public to make creative use of spatial data to address challenges faced by the city. The CSDI Awards 2024 Awards Ceremony was successfully held on 20 July. After rounds of evaluation and selection by the judges, the winners of the awards in the four categories were successfully announced.

This year’s theme for the Awards is “Present Spatial Data, Map our Future”. By harnessing the wealth of information provided by spatial data, we can gain valuable insights into various aspects of Hong Kong, from urban planning to healthcare, transportation and beyond. This theme encourages participants to explore spatial data by spatial analyses and visualisation to address complex issues and pave the way for a better tomorrow.

The Awards have sparked a surge of creativity since the year started, with our briefing sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs aiding contestants throughout their "spatial" journey. The Awards attracted over 160 teams to participate, with a total of nearly 500 participants, which was a very enthusiastic response, and the number and quality of the submitted works far exceeded expectations.

We would like to express our profound appreciation to our guests, judges, and contestants for their participation in the Awards.
